Chris Alber comes to us from Tyson & Mendes where he was a Senior Counsel in their Denver office. While at Tyson & Mendes, Mr. Alber worked in the insurance defense field, including manufacturing defects and a case involving claims involving misappropriation of trade secrets. Prior to his work at Tyson & Mendes, Mr. Alber worked for the Colorado Attorney General’s Office for 12 1/2 years where he represented major state agencies and employees in both federal and state court. The majority of his practice has been in federal court defending the State of Colorado and its employees against claims brought under 42 U.S.C. 1983, alleging various constitutional violations. Mr. Alber has handled his cases from their inception through the appellate process. Mr. Alber has extensive trial experience and has handled numerous appeals in both the state and federal courts. He has been first chair in oral arguments in the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Colorado Supreme Court, and the Colorado Court of Appeals.
Mr. Alber obtained his J.D. from the University of Denver in 2003, where he was on the appellate moot court team. He obtained his B.S. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2000.
In his free time, Mr. Alber enjoys spending time with his wife and his four young children. He also enjoys reading and anything relating to the Denver Broncos.
